Nick Tann Ventnor Fringe Festival
What a great weekend I have had!
After a few months of emails, planning, some more emails and some more planning i finally made it to the Ventnor Fringe Festival on The Isle of Wight.
The VFF was started three years ago by a group of local university students and has been growing year upon year. The giant that is Tom Caulfield tipped me off about the festival earlier on in the year and all thanks to him as it was just amazing. The commitment and enthusiasm of the organisers is just brilliant, I would like to say a special thanks to Becky who patiently answered all my emails and sorted me some great spots at the festival. All in all I played four sets over the Friday and Saturday, two in The Courtyard, one in teh fantastically decorated Observation bar and another at The Bandstand. I was blown away by the friendliness of the audiences and the other artists as well as the rest of the organisers.
I also go the chance to catch up with ‘Til There Was Uke’ ladies Stacy and Lucy who I had previously met busking in Bournemouth the month before, who were also playing.
I just love the island and cant wait to visit again very soon. Thanks to everyone involved including Jack who ran the thing with a relaxed charm that put everyone at ease. See you next year!!
