It’s been a busy week with gigs in West London, Horsham in Sussex and last night in my home town of Southampton.
Miss Q’s in Earls court west London was a great gig. a classy venue with some great artists sharing the bill as well as a very appreciative audience.
The next day (Thursday) I travelled to The Tanners Arms in Horsham where this picture was taken. A nice little music pub with a very savvy music clientele. Had a night =mare journey there with accidents on the M25 & M23 resulting in a 2 hour journey there. Well worth it and I enjoyed a great reception from the audience and an introduction, which is very rare “ladies and gentleman, Nick Tann”. Very welcoming.
Last night (Sunday) I was asked to look after a gig at The Brook in Southampton by Mark “Smutz” Smith a local promoter. I opened the night with a short set and went down surprisingly well considering the large audience had come to see the bands playing and not me. I also managed to collect plenty of email addresses for my mailing list.
Dylan from the Brook was so helpful and friendly and helped make the whole experience very enjoyable. Richard the sound guy made me sound fantastic so I was well pleased.
I introduced the acts as well and made sure the bands went on and came off in time and everything went off without a hitch.
The acts included the amazing Caroline’s Capuchin, Skinny Machine and local heroes “Til Dusk.
Another three gigs this week. I’m back at The Cuban Bar in Camden on Tuesday. I’m hoping to catch The Lost Souls club at The Purple Turtle who are playing the same night.
Playing at a nice little pub, The Fox & Hounds with friends The Real Raj and Sarah Saville, in the New Forest on Friday as well as playing at NatureFest, a fundraising event for Hampshire Wildlife Trust, in Basingstoke on Saturday.
Still more gigs coming up and coming in. It’s a busy time!
